Losing a parent at any age can be traumatic, the path to recovery uncertain. Hope Hospice is teaming up with Hambly Funeral Home on Red Cross Avenue in Newport to offer an opportunity for remembering mothers who have passed on with a Mother’s Day Remembrance Tea, Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m.
A remembrance tea has been held at Hambly for a few years, but this is the first time the funeral home is partnering with Hope Hospice, said Alex Zima, Hope Hospice grief support counselor. Hambly’s Community Programs Coordinator Kim Shute and Hope Hospice grief support counselor Melissa Mastrostefano are also teaming up for the event.
