In an effort to encourage the rehabilitation of low and moderate income rental properties, Hopkinton is offering grants to property owners who agree to maintain units as affordable housing for a minimum of 30 years. The pilot program is open to owners of buildings of four rental units or fewer.
The program was developed by the town’s Affordable Housing Partnership. Chairman Jared Rhodes said the program would not only make available more affordable rental housing, it would also benefit the entire town.
