Quonset Development Corp. Development Services Director Edward J. Spinard Jr. provided details regarding upcoming renovations to the aging Pier 2 at the Port of Davisville to the QDC Board of Directors Tuesday evening.
During his 10-minute PowerPoint presentation, Spinard said improvements will be made on the south and east sides of the pier by building a new steel bulkhead. There will also be a 208-foot-by-108-foot addition to create a new berth on the east face, he said, mainly because that section is currently not “long enough” for car vessels or private cargo vessels.
